Municipal water service was restored for key sectors of Puerto Escondido after state and local water utilities repaired and replaced damaged pumping equipment on Monday.
Repairs at the Malucano No. 6 well, located in Santa María Colotepec, entailed replacing a damaged submersible pump, and were carried out by the state water commission, Ceabien, and the Puerto Escondido water utility.
The well in question services a wide area that includes Juárez, Hidalgo and Reforma sectors, the Adoquín, Granjas del Pescador, Bacocho, Rinconada, Manzanillo, Carrizalillo, Puerto Angelito, Costa del Sol, Ficus, Avenida Pérez Gasga, Avenida Oaxaca, Arroyo Seco, Colonia La Libertad and Colonia Independencia.
Ceabien chief Raciel Cabrera García said water service was restored satisfactorily once the damaged equipment was replaced.
