Thieves stole about half a million pesos (US $26,800) worth of merchandise from a jewelry store in downtown Puerto Escondido on Monday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses saw armed individuals enter Frida Kahlo, a well-known store located on Calle 3a Poniente.
The thieves subdued employees by tying them up before grabbing merchandise, mostly silver jewelry.
Witness accounts indicate that the criminals fled on a small motorcycle.
