A restaurant in Las Brisas Zicatela went up in flames Monday afternoon, but no casualties were reported.
The incident began at about 5 p.m., when the owners of the establishment and residents of the area noticed a dark plume of smoke emerging from the Alaburger restaurant, located on Calle Alejandro Cárdenas.
The strong winds at the time quickly spread the fire throughout the restaurant, and while some called the emergency services, others attempted to suffocate the flames with buckets of water.
The local fire department arrived soon, along with Civil Protection staff, and the fire was extinguished by 5:35 p.m.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and while no one lost their lives and no injuries were reported, the property itself and its contents were declared a total loss.
