A Canadian man was shot dead Monday afternoon in Colonia Arroyo Seco in Puerto Escondido.
The attack took place at around 1 p.m. when Victor Masson, 27, was driving a car on Calle Mar del Norte. He was struck by a bullet in the back that reportedly killed him instantly.
Residents of Arroyo Seco heard the gunshot and notified authorities.
The first responders were a group of municipal police officers and Marines, who upon confirming the death of Victor proceeded to cordon the area off.
No further information has been provided regarding the identity of the attacker or attackers, as the state Attorney General’s Office investigates the incident as a homicide against whomever is found responsible.
