Almoraduz restaurant in Rinconada continues to be recognized as one of the top restaurants in Mexico.
For the third year in a row, Almoraduz has been included in the book Guía México Gastronómico: los 250 restaurantes de México 2023, or Gastronomic México Guide: the 250 restaurants of Mexico 2023, edited by Culinaria Mexicana and published by Larousse Cocina.
Chefs and owners Shalxaly Macías and Quetzalcóatl Zurita said they were proud “to be part of the Gastronomic México Guide. We are deeply grateful to Culinaria Mexicana and Larousse Cocina for strengthening the presence of the gastronomic industry and family.”
Chef Macías celebrated the achievement by saying it reflected “a dream that we share with our team of collaborators, our suppliers and with our diners. At Almoraduz we highlight the aroma and flavors of the recipes, always with respect for the origin, traditions, techniques, times and processes.”
Chef Zurita, chairman of the Puerto Escondido chapter of the national restaurant association Canirac, said the award recognized teamwork at Almoraduz, “our constant effort to strengthen the presence of Puerto Escondido and for sharing the essence of the ingredients and the cuisine from the coast of Oaxaca.”
Using traditional and contemporary techniques, the chefs at Almoraduz surprise diners with creations that are constantly evolving.
Kakurega Omekase, in San Isidro Llano Grande, was the only other area restaurant to make the book, which it does for the second consecutive year. The guide recognized the work of chef Keisuke Harada for “a concept that pays tribute to the fresh ingredients of the region and Japanese cuisine.”
For nine years the Gastronomic México Guide has recognized sustainable Mexican gastronomy. The selection of restaurants is carried out by an editorial board of voters, which includes 60 culinary journalists, content creators, sommeliers, and foodies.
